In light of recent news about a prominent, local investor, we felt it was time to say enough is enough.

Since our founding in 2009, Launch DFW has worked tirelessly to support and promote entrepreneurs in North Texas.

Throughout the past nine years, we have heard accounts of people within the startup community encountering sexual & physical harassment, discrimination, online bullying and more.

We have heard and seen enough. 

The time is now for our community to stand up for what we know is right and expel the bad actors and behavior that hinder the progress that we have made.

Our Code of Conduct 

This code of conduct applies to Launch DFW as a company, its employees and volunteers, our events and event attendees as well as our partners and sponsors.

Launch DFW is dedicated to providing a harassment-free workplace/event experience for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, age or religion/faith/atheism. We do not tolerate harassment of employees, members or event participants in any form. Sexual language and imagery is not appropriate for any event venue, including talks/presentations. Employees, volunteers or event participants violating these rules may be sanctioned or expelled from the event (without a refund in the case of a paid event) at the discretion of the Launch DFW / event staff.

Harassment includes, but is not limited to:

  • Verbal comments that reinforce social structures of domination related to gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, age, religion.
  • Sexual images in public spaces
  • Deliberate intimidation, stalking, or following
  • Harassing photography or recording
  • Sustained disruption of talks or other events
  • Inappropriate physical contact
  • Unwelcome sexual attention
  • Advocating for, or encouraging, any of the above behavior


Participants asked to stop any harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately.
If a participant engages in harassing behavior, Launch DFW retains the right to take any actions to keep the event a welcoming environment for all participants. This includes warning the offender or expulsion from the conference [with no refund].

We expect participants to follow these rules at all event venues and event-related social activities.


If someone makes you or anyone else feel unsafe or unwelcome, please report it as soon as possible. Harassment and other code of conduct violations reduce the value of our community for everyone. You can make a report either personally or anonymously.
