Serena Williams partners with Neighborhood Goods to launch new fashion brand

Big things happen in Texas so it wasn’t a surprise to many of us when tennis great Serena Williams selected local (and recently launched) retail startup Neighborhood Goods as one of the chic, pop up destinations for the launch of her eponymous, new line of activewear for women, Serena. New York, LA and Miami also made the exclusive list.

Last Saturday, fans and media alike got up close and personal with Williams as she talked life, business, the court, investing in startups, motherhood and her mission to create a line for plus sized women, Serena Great.

Her goal with Serena Great is to “create a size-inclusive collection for real women”, Williams said. Always innovative, the superstar athlete will use “great” rather than “plus size” to describe the line designed for women with curves. All of the pieces and accessories are priced $200 or lower.

Fans also got a special treat when supermodel Ashley Graham made a surprise appearance and recorded a live episode of her popular podcast show Pretty Big Deal at the launch.
