09 Oct Our Community Roundtable event has been canceled…here’s why
After considerable thought and discussion, we have made the decision to cancel tonight’s Community Roundtable event.
We received an overwhelmingly positive response from the community and ticket sales indicated that fact, but we also received considerable pressure to not host this conversation. Many of our panelists decided not to participate in the end.
We’re disappointed in the outcome, but we’re honored this achieved what we actually set out to accomplish…
What does this tell us? A couple of things:
Despite Dallas’ many successes and wins, our community, like many others around the country, still has a long way to go. This conversation needs to happen, voices need to be heard and we need to lead not just Dallas but the nation in funding and growing companies with cultures that champion diversity, equality and respect.
Thank you to everyone who positively embraced and championed the Roundtable Conversation. And thank you to the panelists who remained committed.
For anyone who purchased a ticket, you can use it as a credit towards any future Dallas New Tech, or we will issue a refund. Questions or inquiries: firstname.lastname@example.org.
