Vergent Communications just announced that it has acquired the assets of Opus3 and EllumNet, based in Deep Ellum.

“We are excited about the opportunity to leverage the resources of these two dynamic companies. At the top of that list are the talented, dedicated, and motivated team of professionals led by David Herr,” said Will Gibson, President of Vergent Communications.

Opus3 provides ultra-high speed voice and data connectivity for businesses, events and venues throughout Dallas and North Texas.  EllumNet enables communities to benefit from a locally-staffed and supported alternative to legacy cable companies, and brings greater data speeds at competitive prices to business and residential customers.  Both companies began offering service in 2015. Vergent will leverage a larger staff and range of connectivity services, along with increased support infrastructure and capital resources, along with the Opus3 and EllumNet assets, to accelerate the growth of ultra-high speed voice and data connectivity for businesses, events, and venues, and broaden the geographic footprint of Vergent’s residential high-speed services.
