09 Nov Cowboys Owner Jerry Jones to launch Blue Star Accelerator
The Dallas Business Journal recently reported that a new accelerator and investment hub called the “Blue Star Accelerator” will be launched at The Star, the world headquarters for the Dallas Cowboys located in Frisco, Texas. The Blue Star Accelerator will help early stage businesses in the technology, sports, and entertainment industries.
“The vision of The Star was to bring incredible opportunities not only for the Jones family businesses, but for the sports industry as a whole,” said Jerry Jones, owner of the Dallas Cowboys, in a written statement.
The Blue Star Accelerator will be launched in partnership with Jerry Jones, the Jones family, and Dallas entrepreneur Rob Wechsler. Wechsler is the founder and CEO of Blue Star Sports, a youth sports management company that provides an innovative platform for national governing bodies, youth sports leagues, clubs, and associations. The company is backed by Jerry Jones and his family, and headquartered in Frisco also.
“Rob Wechsler is the ideal entrepreneur to partner with us to bring the vision of Blue Star Accelerator to life,” Jones said. “We see this residence incubator program as a perfect match for what we are doing with our headquarters and our business as a whole.”
Companies that are interested in applying for the Blue Star Accelerator program can visit and apply at bluestaraccelerator before January 15th. Applicants must have the following information to apply:
- Contact Information
- Summary of Business
- Capital Invested
From there, selected companies will have the opportunity to give a presentation to the Jones family, Wechsler, company executives, and other investors.
After presentations, companies that are hand-selected will be able to utilize the resources of the Cowboys and Wechsler. By utilizing the Blue Star network, young companies will have the ability and resources to reach their full potential.
This is an exciting year for the Cowboys, especially as they’re tied for first in the NFL. They currently have a merchandising deal on their website in lieu of the election, so fans can get 25% off of orders over $50. Go Cowboys!
