Dallas-based collbox heading to QuickBooks Connect 2016

The Intuit Development team just announced on their blog which teams would be competing for $100,000 at the QuickBooks Connect 2016 event in San Jose, California. On October 24th, ten different teams will be competing on stage at Intuit’s Small Business App Showdown. The Dallas-based company, collbox, was selected as one of those finalists.

Simplifying the task of debt collection is the premise of collbox’s app submission. Some features include: tracking down customers that haven’t paid their bill after reminders have been sent out, sending customers to collections, and recovering debt so companies can boost their revenue. Their app connects to their customer’s accounting systems, allowing visibility into customer’s that pay slowly – or not at all. With their platform, they can scan their network of certified collection agencies to find the best rate for a client’s type of debt.

QuickBooks Connect 2016 is a huge event attended by thousands of entrepreneurs, small businesses, accountants, and developers. There, businesses can grow, connect, and learn in order to succeed. Some of the event’s featured speakers include olympians Michael Phelps and Simone Biles.

Since entering months ago, collbox and other devs have been using their social media platform to gain votes for their QuickBooks apps on App.com. Different contestants also used methods of daily emails, radio appearances, and joining the #SmallBizAppShowdown and #QBOChat for votes.

Intuit explained, “While the votes rolled in, the apps were also judged on their quality of integration, innovation, and market impact. Those criteria, combined with the vote tally, their apps.com app card ratings, and the number of connections to QuickBooks Online subscribers, were used to select the 10 finalists.”

While collbox represents Dallas, TX other finalists came from Canada, the UK, Australia and New Zealand. Each of their app submissions address different small business needs. Until October, they will be practicing their presentation to demonstrate their specific apps. The finalists are:
