Ignite DFW 5 Presenters, Part One

Ignite DFW is a night of presentations on a variety of inspired topics — with a twist. Each presentation has 20 slides that automatically advance after 15 seconds. It is a worldwide movement. The fifth installment of Ignite DFW takes place on Tuesday, July 19, at the Texas Theatre.

Presentation title: How a Bicycle Saved My Life and Can Possibly Save Yours Too

Bio

Brian Hasenbauer is the son of a Naval Commander and has lived in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba and Rota, Spain as well as stateside in Rhode Island, Pensacola and Washington, DC. Brian graduated with a BS in Finance from George Mason University and has worked as an Advanced Financial Analyst at EDS and i2 Technologies before starting his own triathlon training company, Fit2train. Brian raced for several years as a professional triathlete before started work at Competitor Magazine and then worked as VP of Marketing for indoorDIRECT. Currently, Brian lives in Dallas, TX and works as an Inbound Marketing and Sales Consultant at LeadG2. He is married with 2 great kids.

Catherine Cuellar

Presentation title: How Almost Going Blind Improved My Vision

Bio

Named among “5 Kickass Dallas Women Who Could Totally Be President” by the Dallas Observer, Catherine Cuellar is a multimedia storyteller. She made her short fiction debut in Akashic Books’ 2013 anthology Dallas Noir. She has also been in the cast of Oral Fixation, was a featured speaker at TEDxTurtleCreekWomen, and has worked for Sojourners, KERA and The Dallas Morning News, among others. During the State Fair of Texas she also judges chocolate, candy, cobbler and biscuits contests.

Cheri Garcia

Presentation title: Cornbread Hustle

Bio

Cheri Garcia has a background working in TV news, but her entrepreneurial spirit pulled her to become an Inventor. Cheri invented the Luminous Envy Tanning Bed, which sells nationwide and has been picked up by As Seen On TV, and Leslie’s Pool. Her dream has turned into a reality, but her ultimate goal is to continue her journey as a motivational speaker and invention consultant. She lives to inspire others to realize their passion and find the courage to take risks to achieve goals. She currently does PR exclusively for Mark Cuban Companies and works with several of the Shark Tank startups on a daily basis.

She uses her experience from working in the newsroom to help spread the word and create buzz for Entrepreneurs. Cheri is also the CEO of an app called RentEval, which recently received $500k in funding. You may have seen Cheri on The Steve Harvey Show for her philanthropy work and entrepreneurship. She revealed her own personal story to 2.3 million viewers on national TV, and continues to spread the message to inspire others. Her latest venture, Cornbread Hustle helps former inmates and people in recovery find jobs.

Presentation title: Your Brave vs Your Fear

Bio

Earlina Green graduated from the University of North Texas with a B.A. in Communication Studies and Marketing. Upon graduating, Green was hired by 2011 NBA World Champion Dallas Mavericks General Manager/President Donnie Nelson to assist in growing sales for his minor league team in Frisco, the Texas Legends.

Green received the 2012 National Sports Launch 30 Under 30 Award for her creativity, hard work and innovation within the sports industry. The eWoman Network also recognized Earlina in 2012 as Dallas’s Emerging Leader.

Spring of 2014, Green had the pleasure to once again build a sports team from the ground up, the opportunity would take her to New York City to work for the Madison Square Garden Company, Westchester Knicks (affiliate to the New York Knicks). As Director of Ticket Sales, Earlina was responsible for building and training a young and vibrant sales staff.
Today, Green is a Business Consultant for a technology company in Richardson, Texas and completing her second title, The Beginners Guide To Finding Your Brave.

Bio

Emily Tate is the product manager for TripCase, a leading travel management app. A veteran of the travel industry, Emily started her journey managing software solutions for airlines before taking her experience to the traveler’s side of the journey. At TripCase, Emily has managed the product through significant growth and change, including a complete redesign of the entire app and a shift in product management and development methodologies. She was recently listed as one of 52 women making an impact in product management.

  • Ateanna Uriri is a journalism major at UNT and currently an editorial intern for Launch DFW. When she is not at school or interning, she works as a library associate for the Dallas Public Library and is an active blerd (Black nerd) with a love for books, particularly the graphic variety, old films and documentaries.
