April 20: Don’t Miss the Digital Dallas Startup Comedy Roast

One thing that most entrepreneurs in the Dallas/Fort Worth startup community will agree on is that besides trying to make money from our ideas, we need to have fun while we’re doing it. And what better way to have a giggle than by hooking up with some true comedy gold acts?

That’s exactly what the Digital Dallas Startup Comedy Roast is all about. Returning to the Dallas Comedy House for the third time in six years, this year’s event is the first to take place at its new location in Deep Ellum, featuring five of the hottest startups in the area looking to wow us with their magic before we can all sit back and enjoy the hilarity of some of Dallas’ funniest comedy acts.

While Dallas is absolutely chock-a-block with meetups, networking events, happy hours and other startup-oriented events, few experiences compare to having a few giggles with like-minded folk and seeing what some of the city’s hottest startups are about.

The format works like this: First we grab a few drinks and mingle, and then we sit back and watch each startup take to the stage for two minutes (yes, just two minutes, so it’s sure to be good) to dazzle us with whatever they’re doing. Then, once all five startups are done and dusted, we sit back and enjoy the hilarious acts from the Dallas Comedy House’s legendary improv troupe.

The startups on show are quite something too. First up is Dangle, creators of the Dangle app that’s a must-have for any parent with teenage kids that need taming. Then there’s Robin, which offers a totally unique, personalized yard cleaning service. NoiseAware, meanwhile, has built what it calls the world’s “first smoke detector for noise” aimed at hotel managers and Airbnb hosts who’re looking for a way to control their noisy guests. FansEye is a great little app for sports fans that allows them to rate and review players across multiple Major League sports. Last but not least there’s Kubos, creators of the world’s only “open-source space flight platform,” which we’re expecting to be even cooler than what it sounds.

The action starts April 20 at 6 p.m. so don’t delay; grab your tickets now and join in the fun!
