Anyone who has ever had a home improvement project knows that going from a phone call to a contractor to a quote to a final price can be fraught with unpleasant surprises. From wildly different price quotes to hidden costs, the process often becomes a major source of stress for homeowners. Some online companies have popped up offering a place to get different bids from competing contractors, but one new company offers a way to streamline and shorten the whole process like no other.
Izzy DiChiara, cofounder of Happier House, says that the company offers the easiest, most transparent home-improvement process available — or as he puts it, “BS-free home improvement.” He says Happier House trims the fat and removes the middle man.
“We’re able to offer home owners wholesale pricing on materrials and all-inclusive pricing on installation,” DiChiara said during a Dallas New Tech presentation on April 12.
Happier House doesn’t charge the customer anything to use its service. According to DiChiara, customers can go to the site, enter the details of their project, and get a quote in less than two minutes with “no surprises.”
The company’s business model is to charge contractors a 5 to 15 percent cut of the price of the project. In exchange, companies save on ad dollars, lead generation, and sales and marketing staff. “We’re actually providing them a job versus just a lead.”
Happier House launched two weeks ago with a $200 Google Ads budget and has generated 70k in project quotes so far.
