Speaker: Oren Salomon

Talk Title: Honeybees and their American Habitats

What sparked the idea for your Ignite talk?

I’m a beekeeper and so this is a very personal topic to me. If you like to eat the way you currently eat, bees and their survival should be a vital concern to you too due to their integral role in crop pollination.

What’s your day job?

I run a coworking space called Dallas Fort Work. I hope you’ve heard of it.

What inspires you and how do you stay motivated?

I’m inspired by people who have changed the world for the better. I stay motivated by coffee.

What’s your secret passion?

My secret passion is performing kind acts for strangers. I’m always amused by how gracious people can be when someone they’ve never met and will probably never see again does something nice for them. My hope is they pay it forward, but even if they don’t, I’m paying it forward for the kind strangers I’ve met in my life.

What places, spaces, and faces do you recommend for someone visiting Dallas for the first time?

Dallas Fort Work so you can come hang out with me. I’ll provide coffee, you provide presence, and we’ll converse together.
