Startup Profile: Crimeseen

Paul Conrady founder of Crimeseen® provided an impassioned presentation at One Million Cups Fort Worth last Wednesday about fighting crime—from your couch.

Crimeseen® is the crime solving social network. Conrady created the company to facilitate communication within communities to fight crime, support the police, and to create safer neighborhoods. Users receive email notifications of crimes and reply to help solve crimes and keep their communities safe. Through this crowd-sourced crime solving approach, communities help each other and potentially earn rewards in the process. Users select the size of the area around specified locations and receive emails of reports from within their selected patrol radius areas. Each user can then share the report and offer any information regarding the incident that might help the victim solve the crime.

Crimeseen® provides a locator map of private security camera locations and snapshots of video recorded by private citizens willing to assist in solving crime in their area. In the event of a crime people can contact a camera owner for assistance clicking on their marker and providing the date, time, and details of the incident. To enroll cameras that view public space you must be a member and you may upload your day and night snapshots of up to 3 cameras for any incident. This provides an easy way for DFW citizens and businesses to join in this crowd-sourced security platform and become part of the solution.

Crimeseen® is always 100% free to use (sponsors displayed on the website provide the funding for this powerful tool.) Crime seen® also collaborates with teams of second responders like locksmiths, window and door repair, overhead door repair, firearm dealers, security firms, insurance agencies, auto glass installers, and other companies, that understand the stress of having to secure or repair property in an emergency.

Fast response to property crime is essential for security and prompt recovery of stolen property. These teams assist in filing a Crimeseen® report and quickly display the report on the team members’ social media outlets sharing details that can lead to the recovery of stolen property. When several trades are required to secure a crime scene, this list of reputable providers is priceless.
