Unbranded, a pop-up retail and event experiment, to return in November
After a successful inaugural run in late-2014, Unbranded, an innovative pop-up retail and event-space, has announced it will return for 2015 in Downtown Dallas, with tremendous support from Downtown Dallas Inc., amongst a number of other soon-to-be-announced partners. For the second year in a row, the founders of Need, Foremost, and Foot Cardigan, Matt Alexander and Bryan DeLuca, intend to provide free space to a curated group of entrepreneurs, designers, developers, coffee roasters, photographers, and artists for the months of November and December 2015.
“Last year, we threw Unbranded together in a matter of weeks. And it was a tremendous success,” said Matt Alexander, co-founder of Unbranded and CEO of Need and Foremost. “Bryan and I agreed that we’d only bring it back if we could improve upon the first iteration. And, with the support of such an amazing group of high-profile partners, we’re confident we can put last year’s efforts to shame.”
Beginning today, prospective exhibitors are able to visit weareunbranded.com to apply to exhibit or host events in the new space. If accepted as an exhibitor, the space will be provided freely for one-to-two weeks and may be used for selling products, displaying artwork, or any other such activity. Unbranded will take no cut of sales. Instead, Unbranded will freely provide press, foot traffic, and well-deserved support.
Keen shoppers are also able to sign-up for more information at weareunbranded.com. And, as a thank you for their early support, those who sign-up will receive wristbands in November to provide special discounts and perks at Unbranded and other surrounding storefronts and restaurants.
“We learned a lot of lessons after our first outing with Unbranded,” said Bryan DeLuca, co-founder and CEO of Foot Cardigan. “So, this year, it will be fully staffed, we’ve got a larger space, we’ve got a laundry list of partners — both for curation of brands and for facilitating the pop-up — and we’re ready for brands and concepts from all over the country. Both Matt and I are busy with our holiday efforts with our respective companies, but believe this is an important project. And, evidently, a lot of other people agree.”
Unbranded II will open its doors across the street from the iconic Neiman Marcus in Downtown Dallas at 1600 Commerce Street. And, for the weeks following, Unbranded will host regular events, happy hours, and pop-ups for discerning shoppers seeking a unique experience in their city.
Need, Foremost, and Foot Cardigan will have an ongoing presence at Unbranded, allowing their customers to exclusively shop their goods in-person this holiday season. Coffee and alcohol will be made available for those who wish to work or relax in the space.
