Support Uber in Texas

It’s the freakin’ weekend baby and chances are you’ll be hitting up a patio or rooftop for some adult beverages. And hopefully you’ll be relying on the services of ride-sharing programs like Uber to get you to and from your favorite watering hole.

Right now, there’s a bill making its way through the Texas legislature that would ensure Uber has a permanent home in Texas. When people ditch their keys and request Uber, it relieves congestion, improves air quality, and alleviates the hassle of parking—not to mention providing a safe, reliable ride that can reduce the number of alcohol-related car accidents.

And that’s important: Texas leads the nation in alcohol-related crashes and fatalities. According to a study conducted with Mothers Against Drunk Driving, Uber’s presence in a city significantly reduces the occurrence of drunk driving.

So before you head out for the weekend, take a couple minutes and sign the petition to keep Uber in Texas.
