Aristos Ventures Invests in Tech Wildcatters Alum, Nimbix

Aristos Ventures’ invested an undisclosed amount in a Series B round of funding for cloud computing software company, Nimbix.

“They’re killing it,” Felipe Mendoza, managing director of Aristos, told Dallas Business Journal in a recent interview. He met Nimbix in 2011 when it was part of the Tech Wildcatters accelerator program. “So when they needed more financing, I was able to jump right in.”

The investment will range between $3 million and $5 million upon completion. Nimbix will be using the funding to scale its business and further the growth they’ve been seeing in the last couple of years.

Nimbix’s services include HPC applications through the Nimbix Accelerated Compute Cloud™, and “delivers unique accelerated high-performance systems and applications from its world-class datacenters as a pay-per-use service,” according to their website. Nimbix recently announced the addition of  JARVICE, an extension to support hybrid cloud implementations that allows companies to comply with data security and location requirements.

Nimbix plans to hire more employees in sales, marketing and development in 2015. “It also will expand its cloud to accommodate its growing client base. As a part of that growth, its planning to expand its Dallas data center and open facilities in Houston and parts of Europe and Asia.”
