Need an Intern? Check out the Student Startup Internship Fair!

On September 30, the Dallas Regional Chamber is hosting its 2014 Student Startup Internship Fair, along with Dallas Baptist University.

Are you a North Texas startup looking to grow your business? Wouldn’t it be awesome if that could involve an intern looking for a great experience within the DFW entrepreneurial ecosystem?

Tara Vornkahl, Manager of Innovation with the Dallas Regional Chamber, spoke with us about the upcoming event. She has helped to organize several events in the area (including CoFoundersLab and 1 Million Cups), and noticed the need for more connection between the startup community and our local schools.

Many universities and students are eager to get plugged into the startup scene — whether it’s to build a better relationship or the students are aspiring entrepreneurs themselves — but they aren’t sure how,” Tara explained.

The event includes raffles and prizes for those in attendance — AND a pancake dinner. The event is open to all DBU students, both graduates and undergraduates from all fields of study.

“We want to shine light on the entrepreneurial career pathway — what better way to do so than have students have a hands on learning experience with a local startup,” says Tara. “I hope to grow this program over time and reach all 9 major universities within North Texas. We have a great university system here with extremely talented students. Let’s all work together in bridging that gap and retain our local talent and increase DFW’s startup ecosystem success.

If you’re a startup or entrepreneur and interested in attending, you can register here.
