IBM’s new Cloud Development Platform, codename: BlueMix

IBM’s Dallas Innovation Center is holding a workshop next Monday to learn about BlueMix, IBM’s new cloud development platform.

BlueMix is an open-standards, cloud-based platform for building, managing and running apps of all types (web, mobile, big data, new smart devices). Capabilities include Java, mobile backend development, application monitoring, as well as capabilities from ecosystem partners and open source — all through an as-a-service model in the cloud.

Attendees will be able to learn the fundamentals of building and deploying an application in the Cloud, work with BlueMix experts on how to use the product and migrate their application as well as help shape BlueMix with their input and feedback.

It does seem at least that IBM has invested in some design resources for the BlueMix website, so that’s a positive first impression!
