Zipyap Launches App to Simplify Your Social Media Life

Dallas startup Zipyap wants to help simplify your social media life by bringing all your streams into a a single, beautiful app.

Not only that, but Zipyap aims to help you improve life by suggesting places to go and activities based on your mood and what your friends are doing. According to the company “you can select from either relax, eat or play and nearby places will instantly appear. zipyap’s proprietary social mediation technology also allows you to view all of your friends “check-ins” and activity at the businesses around you so you can make informed decisions on where you want to go.”

Zipyap has plans to launch a merchant platform in the upcoming months. This will allow local businesses to display exclusive deals and announcements to nearby users. Merchants will be able to use a “self-serve” portal to cater to zipyap users by providing them with special privileges for using the app.

So will Zipyap cure all your social media and “going out” pain points? Hard to say, though they’ve certainly put together a great teaser video and a beautiful app. I downloaded it on my iPhone but ran into some issues with creating an account (that have since been fixed). Also, they currently only support Twitter, Facebook and Instagram, but do plan to add support for other networks over time.

Check out the video below or head on over to the iTunes Store and download the app!
