Kickstart Monday: Switch Taps Interchangeable Beer Tap Handles

Sometimes innovation comes in relatively low-tech forms, and we celebrate it!

After all, who doesn’t want completely interchangeable tap handles that not only work on your trusty kegerator, but also your growler. BOOM. Say hello to Switch Taps’ recently launched Kickstarter campaign.

And what is entrepreneurship but encountering a real-world problem, becoming frustrated with the available solutions, and setting out to create something superior.

This is precisely what brothers Matt & Jonathan Logue are setting out to do.

After getting involved in homebrewing, the discovered that there was no easy to create a brandable tap handle to show off their hand-made libations.

“We found most beer taps to be very expensive and logoed for only one beer type. With every change of the keg, a new tap handle was needed,” say the brothers. “We tried using the chalkboard style handles, but felt they were messy and lacked that professional image we wanted our home bar to portray. Like most, we simply branded our handles and beer growlers using a piece of masking tape and a marker or another type of homemade label.”

The Switch Tap system is a patent pending beer handle design which attaches to any standard beer faucet (3/8″ x 16 UNC), which then can accept interchangeable acrylic face plates (labels), representing the various craft beers and home brews… like so:

Simple. Elegant. Awesome.

You can reserve your Switch Taps now by heading over and supporting their Kickstarter campaign.
