Startup Weekend Kicks Off 2014

When this year wraps up and the Christmas decorations come down, Denton Public Library will host Startup Weekend beginning January 24, which you won’t want to miss.

Fifty-four hours of collaboration, coaching, coding, feedback, and caffeine all in the name of supporting the global entrepreneurial community. Headquartered out of Seattle, Startup Weekend has been hosted by over 100 countries.

Kicking off the weekend, anyone is invited to pitch their startup idea on Friday. By popular vote, the top selected ideas will form teams. Teams will then explore and utilize skill sets of team mates to build and enhance the pitch.

On Sunday, teams will wrap up by giving a more solidified pitch to a panel of judges who will dish out awards at the close of the day.

It’s an entrepreneurial race against time as these teams quickly define their central goals and explore their individual niches. With the help of coaches and fellow team feedback, you’re guaranteed to gain something extremely valuable from this workshop.

Tickets start at just $75 for the early bird special and sales end December 25th. (Christmas present to your cofounder maybe?)
