DEC Honors Sam Wyly

Dallas Entrepreneur Center welcomes Sam Wyly as the first contributor to their Entrepreneur Legends Sponsorship.

Created with the intention to recognize the long-running spirit of entrepreneurism in Dallas, the Entrepreneur Legends Sponsorship will further subsidize the DEC’s legacy.

“The Entrepreneur Legends sponsorship is a program we launched to recognize pillars in the Dallas community,” said DEC cofounder Jeremy Vickers.

“As the DEC works to promote the brand of Dallas nationally, it is essential to show others that Dallas has been historically rich with entrepreneurs and that we (entrepreneurs) are not new to the game.”

Wyly is known to be a wide-range philanthropist as well as a widely recognized big-time entrepreneur, with most of his successes originating in Texas. His most recent book, Texas Got it Right! was published last year, as well as his illustrated biography being published the year before.

“The purpose of a business is to create customers,” said Wyly, as he stood alongside his family and the DEC community last Monday to cut the celebratory ribbon initiating his legacy and to share his experiences over the years.

In honor of his contribution, the DEC hung a poster of Wyly on their “Entrepreneur Legends Wall” and has also decorated and renamed one of their conference rooms after him.
