Two Recent College Grads ‘Dorm It Up’

Local entrepreneurial graduates partner up to deliver college start up kits to new students.

After a time consuming and expensive transition into dorm life upon entering college four years ago, cousins Shanil Wazirali and Sagar Hemani came up with a business plan to spare future parents and students the hassle. Aiming to save “time, money, and sanities,” Dorm It Up is the very first business of its kind, offering packages of dorm essentials.

Donned with bedding and towels, packages start at just $99 and offer a variety of color schemes and personalizations. The largest kit, priced at a modest $299 includes everything from bedding to eating utensils. Overall, the company claims to save an average of 64 percent while dorm shopping.

Based out of Dallas, each package is individually assembled by the Dorm It Up team and delivered in a reusable, collapsible, and recyclable box for easy move in or move out. They are partnered with several universities across the states, providing easy access to their offers as well as a student internship.
